The fountain is also known as “Fontana delle tredici cannelle” because there are thirteen water taps which are setted in forms of masks made of bronze except the central tap that is setted in form of stone mask. Some legends tell that drinking from the taps is considered to bring good luck and guarantee one's return to the city.
