JESI
This city is placed at 20 km from Ancona and famous for being the place of birth of the emperor Federico II of Swabia. It’s worth visiting because of the historic center and the ancient little roads remained intact inside of the medieval city walls. Apart from the museums as Diocesan museum in the square, it is highly recommended to visit Pianetti Palace which contains some masterpieces of Lorenzo Lotto and Pergolesi Theatre that is dedicated to the famous Italian composer, who was born in Jesi too, Giovan Battista Pergolesi.
ARCEVIA’S CASTLES
Arcevia is a city even closer to the mountain going from Jesi. It is a city surrounded by beautiful and typical well-preserved fortified villages of 3-15th century situated on top of various nearby hills. This villages are bounded to various traditions (hunting with hawks) as the village of Nidastore is known to be "nest of the goshawks".
